Dit krachtige prachtige hoofd is gekapt uit Springstone (graniet) De combinatie met ruwe steen als haardos is zijn handelsmerk. Lazerus zijn beelden zijn echte collecters items en worden niet vaak aangeboden. Dit beeld is aangekocht door ons van de kunstenaar in 1998 op zijn eigen boerderij.
LAZARUS TAKAWIRA
Born in (1952-2020) in Nyanga, Zimbabwe. Lives and works in Harare (Zimbabwe)
Lazarus Takawira is the youngest of three sculptor brothers. Sculpting the hard serpentine stone, he lets emerge figures of women with mysterious faces, who sometimes recall the work of Modigliani.
Lazarus’ works are included in the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Zimbabwe, as well as in various public collections, including the Rodin Museum in Paris, the World Bank in New York, the Museum of Tervuren in Belgium.
